Halloween

This will have to be a quick entry. I've had a long, hard but incredibly good weekend. It's become a tradition for myself and a quite a large group of friends to go away and scare ourselves over Halloween weekend. It's something we've been doing for more than 10 years now and I have a feeling the tradition won't stop for a long time now. This year we secreted ourselves to the Wilderness Centre in the Forest of Dean. It's one of our favourite haunts (stop groaning the pun wasn't that bad). The Centre is an old Asylum coverted into an environmental education centre that can be hired by interest groups over the weekend. It's located high on an exposed hill with beautiful views. Although this time the views were mostly hidden by mist (great for the Halloween atmosphere though)

Actually this weekend was a little more than just friends together. As we all make up the organisers and most regular attenders of the group Fear of the Dark. I'm sure I'll talk more about these activitiess in the future. In the meantime why not take a look at the website.

Megatokyo

I'm not the first person to rave about megatokyo. Hopefully I won't be the last; but before I get deeper into my own stuff (takes a moment to hope you won't find my stuff boring) I feel the need to support megatokyo
Megatokyo is a web comic, a forum and to a lot of people a way of life. It's had deep impact on it's creator and is a great Internet success story. I review it's content, but I'd suggest that if you know anyone with any love for computer games, anime, love stories, or SF that you'd find it amusing

Blog On

Ok so that is hardly an exciting, uncliched or original title. Kind of reflects whats going on here. This is my first go at a blog. I don't really know what I'm doing so ; so the plan is to post and see what happens.

There are a few things I do know.

My name is Robert Lyn Davies

I seem to be an emergent artitst. See my website at http://photogallery.findingviews.com
In fact I run the findingviews project (www.findingviews.com) and I suspect that this blog will replace the somewhat unfocussed and underused Wiki on that site in the not too distant future.
I'm planning to give up work and travel the world in order to try and improve my creative craft. This project will be one of the things that I'm sure will be occupying a reasonable amount of space on this blog. That and I seem to have a world view that a lot of people don't seem to get. Hopefully I'll post snippets of Rob thought which will be interesting to those that read, or you'll just say - "he's nuts" A veritable fruit loop.

Ok so that's the introduction and the idea. Vague as it is.

Thought of the moment - if most people spend their lives trying to deflect blame away from themselves why do some people create (e.g. art, blogs, anything that exposes their thoughts) and risk ridicule and exposure. I think the answer is - a need for expression. But how do some people live wihtout that self expression?
