I've just come back from playing in the latest
Twilight Realms adventure. I have the expected number of aches, pains, bruises and tiredness from such an event. Not that any of the pain or exhaustion matters. I had a wonderful time. There is nothing like getting out into the countryside with a group of old friends; having good food, drink and conversation and then play-acting like crazy.
Weekends like this are always social.
Full of moments of improvisational acting (some of it truly inspired - and we were lucky to see some this time)
Often quite physical - especially when there is lots of sword play (in case you're unsure the swords and weapons used a 'safe'; and made of latex and composite materials. Quite similar to the weapons used in the making of action and fantasy films - such as Troy and the Lord of the Rings series).
So it's fun, friends, acting and fighting as a contact sport.
Also along the way for Wales as they took the Grand Slam (YAY!)
Of course with my travel plans looming closer this could be last game for some time. It was marvelous that I was able to have such a good time and have some time with these old friends (some of whom live some distance from me) before the final frantic stage of preparation and heading off across the world alone.
